Privacy Policy

Summary

Idle Tab Auto-Suspender does not sell your data, does not run advertising trackers, and does not collect browsing history on our servers. Your settings and session data stay on your device (and in Chrome sync, if enabled).

Data stored on your device

The extension may store the following locally or via Chrome sync:

• Extension settings (timer duration, exclusions, whitelist rules)
• Countdown timer state while a session is active
• Optional saved browser session snapshots you create manually
• Per-tab activity timestamps used only to decide when a tab is idle

This information is used solely to provide tab suspension, countdown, and restore features. It is not transmitted to us automatically.

Permissions we use

• tabs — to detect idle tabs, suspend or restore them, and apply your exclusion rules
• alarms — to check idle tabs periodically and run countdown timers reliably in the background
• storage — to save your settings and session data
• contextMenus — to add right-click actions for suspending tabs

What we do not collect

• We do not receive the full content of pages you visit
• We do not receive your passwords, form inputs, or personal files
• We do not use analytics or third-party advertising SDKs inside the extension

Contact form

If you use our support contact form, the email address and message you submit are sent to us through Formspree so we can reply. Only send information you are comfortable sharing for support purposes.

Third-party services

The contact form uses Formspree to deliver support messages. Formspree’s own privacy policy applies to data submitted through that form.

Google Fonts may be loaded when you open extension pages (such as settings or this policy). Google’s policies apply to font delivery.

Data retention

Extension data on your device remains until you change settings, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension. Support messages sent via the contact form are retained only as long as needed to handle your request.

Children’s privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the extension changes. The “Last updated” date below will reflect the latest revision.
